Welfare Fund

THE PROPHET (ﷺ) SAID: “ALLAH ALMIGHTY SAID: MY LOVE IS THE RIGHT OF THOSE WHO LOVED EACH OTHER FOR MY SAKE. THEY WILL BE UNDER THE SHADE OF THE THRONE ON THE DAY OF RESURRECTION WHEN THERE IS NO SHADE BUT MINE.” [AL-IKHWĀN LĪ-IBN ABĪ AL-DUNYĀ]

Charity is an important way of bringing justice to society. A society can flourish only when its members do not spend all their wealth on the satisfaction of their own desires, but reserve a portion of it for parents, relatives, neighbours, the poor and the needy. A true believer, after meeting the needs of his family, is thus always prepared to assist other people in need of his help. “By no means shall you attain righteousness unless you give of that which you love.” (Quran 3: 92

Our Welfare Fund has been designed to promote the basic physical and material well-being of people in need. This fund assists the most vulnerable in the community by purchasing medication for the sick, paying rent when they are unable, helping stranded travelers reach their destinations and providing food for those who do not have.

We have a monthly welfare kitty worth 50,000 Kenya shillings which is used to cater for cases received and verified by our officers that do not exceed 10,000 Kenya shillings and our Emergency Relief Fund which is deployed to assist victims of disasters such as fires and floods. In 2023, 16 families from Mukuru Kwa Njenga and Korogocho have benefitted from the Emergency Relief Fund after fire razed their homes and they lost all their belongings. Alhamdulillah in 2023, Kenya shillings 839,153 was disbursed from the welfare fund to benefit over 100 beneficiaries.

He has made me a blessing wherever I go, and bid me to establish prayer and give alms-tax (zakat) as long as I live.
